Walnuts

Organic from the start
Before organic was a buzz word, Diener Ranch farmed walnuts the organic way for many generations.
From planting trees all the way to harvesting, and processing, the Dieners have successfully grown and sold walnuts on the ranch since the start.
When great-grandpa Gottlieb first started the ranch in 1885, they didn’t have fancy equipment to work with. Even though today they have efficient tractors and a dehydrator that wasn’t built back then, they still never give up on the older resources. If it works, they use it. Bill, Charlie, and the family find it important to keep the family legacy going and feel closer to their ancestors by farming with some of the same trucks, wagons, and tractors that their father, and grandparents used.

Our Walnuts
Diener Ranch grows a hardy variety of walnut called Franquette. It is disease resistant, and has a wonderful flavor. It is one of the last varieties to flower so that makes it less susceptible to late frosts in the springtime. Historically, the Diener Ranch has brought on a successful crop with great quality.
